I absolutely love this tucked away hidden family-run spot. It is the real deal Turkish food. One of my few regular spot where I am never disappointed. Came today solo for late lunch with my dog and she was given lamb/beef on the house... as if I didn't already love them! Please support and keep this amazing business round for years to come-maybe this a selfish request because I need and crave their food regularly. There is nothing like this place in Sonoma/marin county and we want them to stay! Love the appetizer combo, phyllo cheese rolls and chicken doneer with a couple cups of Turkish tea and some sweet desert to top it off but everything is delicious.
This small unassuming Turkish restaurant has some great food! I'm A huge fan of eggplant and especially baba ghanoush- Real Donor serves a terrific version, with pita bread- plenty for a lunchtime meal. Service is attentive and sweet.
The veg mix platter is the bomb. It's the best thing they offer and it's addictive. These guys who run the spot are kind and I like to support a local business.
Delicious and authentic food. We had the falafel plate and kofte kebab plate and a side of pita. Both came with rice and a few types of salad (shredded carrot, shredded cabbage, tomatoes, onions) and a sauce. Sooo good. Cute little outdoor seating. Off the beaten path (aka not in downtown) gem. Will definitely be going back!
I got take out from here when I unexpectedly found myself in Petaluma. The service was great. The owner was working the register and cooking. He was friendly and funny. My order was ready when they said it would be and packaged nicely. The food was delicious. Next time I'll ask for a little something spicy to add to it because sometimes I like my falafel wraps spicy.
Located a bit away from downtown Petaluma, Real Donner is worth the walk (or drive) over. It's a small, unassuming spot but seems to be well liked among locals. Service was warm and friendly. I tried the falafel plate which is a lot of food and comes with hummus, tahini, toasted pita and a salad. The salad items were nicely dressed and fully of flavor with the pickled cabbage in the mix. Very fresh and nicely seasoned. Falafels are perfectly crisp on the outside and nice texture. Really enjoyed my late lunch here and hope to be back.
It's my first time here so we thought it would be a good idea to try combo so we could have a taste of everything! I definitely highly recommend both combo plate and combo appetizers. Everything was freshly made and each bite was a pleasant surprise. My first time trying Turkesh coffee as well. It was strong but not overwhelmingly. It actually goes well with the food. The setting was relaxing and staff were friendly. Will come back again!
This is a great place for authentic Turkish food. The staff was sooo nice and welcoming. They even gave me a free baklava since it was my first time. The wraps were so full of flavor. They're usually super long so I asked to cut mine in half to save for later. Great place, friendly staff, and yummy quality food!
